We have entered a new year, and we have an opportunity to barely exist or to thrive in an abundant way. It is all up to us which direction we pursue or automatically fall into. I have some health challenges which doctors are attempting to resolve and I know that I am not alone. You may have financial challenges, or you may have relationship challenges and you may not know what the challenge is down the road. Our job is to claim hope and faith for each challenge whether we know what it is today or it will approach us from the rear one day in this year.
The challenge is not the issue here. The challenge we have as frail humans is to maintain an attitude of faith. I heard a song awhile back that I felt deep in my soul and remember it often. Lynda Randle wrote the song and does a beautiful rendition of it.
“God of the Mountain”
For the God on the mountain is the God in the valley.
When things go wrong, He'll make them right.
And the God of the good times
is still God in the bad times.
The God of the day, is still God in the night.
The God of the day, is still God in the night.
God on the Mountain by Lynda Randle - Lyrics

Whether religious or not, most people turn to the “God of the Mountain” when in trouble, when in pain or when life seems to turn us over to the inevitable. But we do not have to give up to the inevitable because faith in the “God of the Mountain” gives hope. When we hope, our mind is less stressed, and our body has a better chance to heal. God has answers which we’ve not ever dreamed up even though He’s not disclosing it to us yet.
Faith is always in order. Faith always has more answers than doubt and fear. I do not know what will transpire this year and neither does anyone else reading this story. Having faith that the “God of the Mountain” is working on our behalf puts us a level above the swamp of doubts, dismay and anxiety. Faith does not come naturally for us humans; it is something we must intentionally place our mind and our spirit in the place of faith.
When we practice doubt but hope that faith will take over in some amazing fluke, disappointment will ensue. But practice faith and hope, even though doubt attempts to intrude, the “God of the Mountain? can intervene on our behalf.
Let’s make 2024 a year of launching a new faith in the “God of the Mountain”.
